At Sealounge Catamaran, from the owner Randall Durán to every employee and collaborator, we are proud and delighted to receive the Ecological Blue Flag Award for Playa Fantasia Costa Rica.
The Ecological Blue Flag Program (PBAE) is an annual award in Costa Rica that recognizes the voluntary work of committees to improve health, hygiene, and the environment in different categories, including beaches, communities, and educational centers. Its purpose is to promote healthy competition and community organization for the conservation of natural resources, the mitigation of climate change, and the improvement of quality of life for present and future generations.
Background
In 2012, when we first arrived at Playa Fantasia, we found what was practically an open-air dump, even though it is located within the ARA MACAO Wildlife Refuge.
As a 100% Costa Rican company with a deep love for our country, we spent two years cleaning and restoring the beach in order to recover it and return it to its rightful state. Since then, and up to this day, Sealounge Catamaran has continued to dedicate its own resources to meeting all the requirements needed to obtain this long-awaited award.
